"How soon can you install it?" is one of the first questions every customer asks. The honest answer is: it depends on what you're ordering, but most Singapore installs follow a predictable rhythm — survey, fabrication, shipping, install day. Here's the realistic timeline, stage by stage, so you know exactly what to expect from booking to the moment your blinds actually move.

The Short Answer

For most fabric-based motorised blinds — roller, combi/zebra, venetian, or outdoor zip — plan on 5-6 weeks from booking your free on-site survey to install day. That breaks down into roughly 1-2 weeks of fabrication plus 2-3 weeks of fabric shipping, with install scheduling layered in. Motorised curtain tracks move faster: a customised track typically fabricates in about 1.5 weeks since the aluminium rail is made locally, not shipped in. DIY track sets are the quickest of all — often ready within days, since there's no on-site survey or custom cutting involved.

The Full Timeline, Stage by Stage

1. Free on-site survey (booked around your schedule)

This is the clock-starter. Our team visits your home, takes precise window measurements, confirms motor and fabric options in person (we bring samples), and applies your WELCOME15 discount if it's your first order. This step can't be skipped for customised orders — motorised blinds are made to your exact window dimensions, not off-the-shelf sizes. Surveys are usually available within a few days of booking, including evenings and weekends.

2. Fabrication

Once your order and measurements are confirmed, fabrication begins. Curtain track rails are cut and finished locally — around 1.5 weeks. Blind fabric (roller, combi, venetian, outdoor zip) is cut and assembled to size once it arrives, which is where the timeline stretches out — see step 3.

3. Fabric shipping (blinds only)

This is the main reason blinds take longer than curtain tracks. Most blind fabrics are sourced internationally and shipped in before local fabrication can finish, adding roughly 2-3 weeks on top of the fabrication time. It's the single biggest lever on your total timeline — and also why ordering early (e.g. well before a housewarming or move-in date) makes a real difference.

4. Install scheduling and install day

Once your order is fabricated, we contact you to book an installation slot. On the day, a professional installer handles ceiling or wall drilling, bracket mounting, motor setup, and testing with your smart home app. A handful of windows in a typical HDB flat usually wraps up within half a day; larger condo units, bay window configurations, or multiple double tracks can take a full day. If you chose DIY self-install instead, your order ships to you directly with a full English manual and all hardware — you're not waiting on an installer's calendar at all.

What Can Slow the Timeline Down

Unfinished renovation. We can only measure accurately once walls, ceilings, and flooring near the window are in their final state. If your BTO or condo is still mid-renovation, we'll do the survey once surfaces are done — measuring too early risks an inaccurate fit.

Custom shapes and multi-panel setups. L-shape or U-shape bay window tracks, and unusually wide spans, take a little longer to fabricate and install correctly than a single standard window.

Peak season demand. Fabrication and install slots can fill up faster around common move-in periods (new BTO collection waves, year-end). Booking your survey early gives you more scheduling flexibility.

Choosing professional install. It's worth it for ceiling drilling and clean motor setup, but you are booking into an installer's calendar — versus DIY, where your order ships the moment fabrication is done.

Book your free on-site survey as early as you can — even before your renovation is fully wrapped up, we can pencil in a provisional date. If speed matters more than a fully custom fit, a DIY curtain track set is the fastest path to a motorised window, since it skips the survey and fabric shipping stages entirely. And if you're mixing product types across a home — say, a track for the living room and combi blinds for the bedrooms — booking one combined survey lets everything fabricate and ship in parallel rather than staggered separately.
